Moi, Me Veronique Bouchard (Vro),

Through painting, drawing, sculpture and pottery, my work focuses on the beauty of the mundane, the banal moments we see but often discard. A moment to reflect and observe. Composed of various materials and collages, the work is intuitive and pulls from assorted memories and photos collected throughout my life. Colour, smells, and nature is a big part of the work's inspiration.

I am investigating the relationship between feeling and satire. My work is intuitive as each mark lead to the next. Drip, cut, collage, pour, pull, pinch, and lines define the next step in the process. Each result is unique and unfolds its own story as it becomes alive.

Growing up in the Nothern part of Quebec and then moving to Alberta, the influence of the Boreal landscape, nature and its people is vital within my work. The beauty in small things like the seed in a sunflower, the canola field made of the patch of yellow cues, and my mother's garden allows the shape to emerge. Ease and beauty are within nature. I find line and form through nature, creating a feeling and an untold narrative within those shapes.
